Conventioning is a blog focused on de-mystifying the world of conventions, fandom, and more. Born from the lack of information available to new convention staffers, Conventioning aims to be a tool and source of information for cons, staff, attendees, guests, and industry alike. By sharing information and experiences, we can make conventions better and live our best #conventionlyfe!

A Brief History

Cay Fletcher is an avid writer, artist and purveyor of geek culture. She grew a love for attending and presenting at conventions from an early age. And had the luck of going to her first Sci-Fi con with her mother who has helped cultivate her love of Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and costuming over the years. By the time she reached middle school she had became aware of conventions in the Portland-Metro area and started attending them in 2003, staffing and volunteering by 2007. By launching Conventioning in 2014, she hoped it would help de-mystify the world of conventions for the average attendee, and help less experienced convention staffers. Most recently she has been providing panels for conventions, and helping various organizations with their social media.
